Renovation of an educational facility in Farmville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 130,953-square-foot educational facility.
The Projects Will Include Replacing (20) Split System Air Conditioning Units, (11) Packaged Rooftop Units, and (1) Exterior Wall Mounted Unit With New 4-pipe Air Handling Units. Included Will Also Be (3) 110-ton Air Cooled Chillers, (2) 2500 Mbh Boilers, and Associated Pumps and Piping. Associated Electrical and Structural Support Will Be Included as Part of This Contract. Controls Will Be Furnished and Installed by the Owner. Bid Bond is Required. Certain Mbe Guidelines Must Be Followed. Single Prime Bids Will Be Accepted in Accordance With G.s. 143-128. Requirements for Bidding This Project Are as Follows: Three References From Previously Satisfied Commercial Customers. Furnish Nc License Number (G.s. Chapter 87 Establishes Licensing Requirements for General, Plumbing, Heating, Electrical, and Refrigeration Contractors for Construction Projects Costing $30,000 or More). Insurance - the Contractor Shall Provide, as Required by Law, Insurance for His Employees. The Cumberland County Schools Assumes No Liability for Injuries or Accidents Related to the Contractual Agreement. The Contractor Shall Furnish a Certificate to the Owner (Pitt County Schools) as a Proof of Coverage. The Contractor Shall Maintain and Pay the Insurance Coverage, Which Shall Not Be Less Than the Following: Workman's Compensation Employers Liability Owner/officer Must Be Included in Coverage Statutory $100,000 General Liability (Per Person/per Occurrence): 1. Bodily and Personal Liability Statutory $500,000 Per Occurrence 2. Property Damage Statutory $500,000/$1,000,000 Aggregate} Automobile Liability (Per Person/per Occurrence) 1. Bodily Injury Statutory $500,000 Per Occurrence 2. Property Damage Statutory $500,000/$1,000,000 Aggregate Builder's Risk or Installation Floater Contract Amount Recruitment of Minority Business Participation in Accordance With G.s. 143-128. The Owner Reserves the Right to Reject Any and All Proposals. Scope- The contractor shall be responsible for the demolition and renovation work required to replace 20 existing split system air conditioning units, 11 packaged rooftop units, and one exterior wall mounted unit with new 4-pipe air handling units. three new 120 ton air cooled chillers, two 2500 mbh boilers, pumps, and hot/chilled water piping systems will be installed. a new chiller yard with fencing will be installed. one split system air conditioning unit serving the main office will be replaced with new split system air conditioning unit. all new 4-pipe air handling units will connect to existing ductwork either at the existing mechanical room duct penetrations or at existing roof openings. structure will be modified as required to accommodate the new rooftop air handling unit weights. new controls will be provided by the owner for all plant control and 4-pipe air handling unit control. electrical infrastructure for the existing split systems will be demolished back to panels and breakers will be left as spare. new branch circuits will be provided from the existing spare breakers to the new 4- pipe air handling units. the electrical infrastructure for the existing packaged units will be demolished back to the existing disconnect. the new 4-pipe air handling units will be reconnected to the existing disconnect. the existing wall mounted unit will be removed and replaced with a new 4-pipe air handling unit and fed from an existing spare breaker available from demolition. The new chiller yard will require a new 800a, 277/480v, 3-phase, 4-wire electrical service to feed the chillers and chiller pumps. a 30kva step down transformer and 120/208v, 3-phase, 4-wire panel will also be provided for 120v loads. the boilers will be fed from this new service, but the boiler room pumps will be fed from an existing spare 100a breaker. all exterior piping for these systems will require heat trace. new branch circuits from existing spare breakers will be provided to power the heat trace on the roof.
