The Pottstown School District is soliciting bids for the replacement of the High Schools Domestic Hot Water System within the Mechanical Room (excluding the 2022 Emergency Repairs which included (2) new 380-gallon storage tanks, misc. piping, and valves). All requests for clarifications and substitutions must be in writing and sent by email to Eric Riegler, by email at eriegler@oandsassociates.com, no later than 4 p.m. on March 24, 2023. Project Mobilization: After last day of school for students - Mid June 2023 Final Completion and Demobilization: Before start of new school year - Mid August 2023. Work under this contract includes, but is not limited to the following: 1. Demolition and Removal of existing 3,000 MBH Cleaver-Brooks Watertube Boiler and associated leaking Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger used for domestic hot water generation including all associated equipment and piping connections to point indicated on drawings. a. This shall include the demolition and removal of domestic boiler's exhaust ductwork, gas piping, electrical power connections, and controls. 2. Removal and replacement of the building's inline domestic hot water return (DHWR) circulation pump. 3. Removal of dead end piping legs and installation of new pipe fittings as indicated on the drawings. 4. Installation of two (2) 1,250 MBH Volume Water Heaters and associated new piping/valve connections up to point of 2022 Emergency Repairs* as indicated on the drawings. a. This shall include all associated work for a complete and operational system including new combustion air and exhaust, gas piping, electrical power wiring, and interconnection with the existing Building Automation System (BAS). b. *NOTE: The 2022 Emergency Repairs included (2) new 380-gallon Storage Tanks, misc. piping, and valves up to the existing Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger. Proposed scope of work under this contract shall interconnect with the 2022 Emergency Repairs and utilize the (2) existing 380-gallon Storage Tanks for domestic hot water storage. 5. Provide factory startup and testing.
