Invitation to Bid: Bulloch County Schools requests sealed bids from general contractors for the construction of an athletic track at Portal Middle High School in Portal, Georgia (Bulloch County). Additionally, any questions regarding the bid documents or the bid process should be directed by email to Chris Shafer. The contract, if awarded, will be on lump sum basis. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of 35 days after time has been called on the date of opening. Bids must be accompanied by a bid bond and in an amount not less than five percent of the base bid. Both performance bond and a payment bond will be required in an amount equal to 100 percent of the contract price and executed by a surety company licensed to do business in the State of Georgia and listed in the Department of Treasury Circular 570, latest edition. The Surety Company shall have an A.M. Best Company minimum rating of "A" with a financial size of VII "7" or better. Bonds must be accompanied by letter stating bonding company's current rating for verification prior to acceptance by the Owner and execution of the formal Owner/Contractor agreement. Contractor and all subcontractors are required to have registered and be authorized to use Federal Work Authorization Program "Employment Eligibility Verification in accordance with Georgia law O.C.G.A. 13-10-91 "Illegal Immigration Reform and Enforcement Act of 2011". The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technicalities and informalities and to award the project on whatever basis is in the interest of the Owner.
