Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Franconia, Virginia. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The project will construct a new shared use path along the east side of South Van Dorn Street, from south of Oakwood Road to the Capital Beltway (I-95/495) overpass, and includes realignment of the existing I-95/495 on-ramp and right turn lane at Oakwood Road to provide\ a signalized pedestrian crossing. Question Deadline 02/13/2024 All questions concerning the project shall be submitted in writing to the Director, Utilities Design & Construction Division, Department of Public Works and Environmental Services, 12000 Government Center Parkway, Suite 463, Fairfax, VA 22035-0056, or by emailing DPWESCAPUDCDTransportationInquiry@fairfaxcounty.gov,and to be given consideration, must be received at least seven (7) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of the bids. This office is the only point where information will be di The scope of work also includes, but is not limited to approximately 1900 LF, 10 ft wide asphalt trail, concrete sidewalk, concrete bus stop pads, curb and combination curb and gutter, curb ramps, detectable warning surfaces, storm drains, storm drain structures, signal works at the intersection of Oakwood Road and South Van Dorn Street, signage works, milling, paving, pavement marking and other associated works. The Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County, Virginia reserves the right to reject any and all bids, waive informalities and irregularities in bidding and to accept bids which are considered to be in the best interest of the County. Bid Security must accompany each proposal in accordance with Information for Bidders. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of Seventy-five (75) days after the opening thereof. This is a Federally Funded Project, Davis Bacon, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), and related acts apply. Refer to DMBE for DBE certified businesses. This is also a Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) LAP Project with associated policies, procedures, and record keeping.
