The Robert Parker Coffin Bridge is located on Robert Parker Coffin Road west of the intersection of Old McHenry Road, in Long Grove's downtown business district. This project includes, but is not limited to, the following major work items: remove and replace bridge deck boards and steel vehicle tread plates, improvements to the west transition plate, replacement of galvanized carriage bolts with nuts and washers, cleaning and painting of the top beams, and associated work. This work is subject to the wage provisions of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act. 820 ILCS 130/0/01 et seq. and the Illinois Substance Abuse Prevention on Public Works Projects Act. 820 ILCS 265/1 et seq relative to prevailing wages of laborers, mechanics, and other workers employed in any Public Works as amended by Public Acts 86799 and 86693. The Village of Long Grove reserves the right to accept or reject any bid, to award all or part of a contract, and to make such awards as are in the best interests of the Village. Factors other than price which will be considered in awarding or rejecting bids shall include the results of reference contacts, and the quality of the bidder's performance on prior Village projects, if any, in the judgment of the Village Board and Village staff. All proposals submitted shall be valid for a period of 60 days. The Village Board will consider the submitted bids at their meeting on March 28, 2023. Construction is anticipated to start within 10 days of the contract execution (based on material availability) and completed over 10 working days. Construction completion date to be established at the Pre-Construction meeting.
