New construction of a municipal facility in Richmond, Virginia. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a 15,000-square-foot municipal facility.

The Public Safety Training Facility will be built adjacent to the relocated Firehouse 1, with site development costs included in that project. Consisting of various venues, this facility will provide opportunities for Police, Fire and Sheriff to test and train. The Field House will be a 15,000 square foot pre-engineered building with a climate-controlled open floorplan and minimum 24’ ceiling clearance. The building will include a decontamination room, showers, lockers, classrooms, administrative offices, kitchen and support spaces. The simulated urban block replicates commercial buildings using eight modular buildings under a protective roof structure, to allow for year-round operations. The flexibility of these props will allow for changing training scenarios for each agency. The facility is completed with a block of town homes, a singlefamily home residential cul-de-sac, and a gravel pit. Project is included Henrico County's FY 2027 Capital Improvement Plan. It is currently in the conceptual phase. Design work is expected in FY 2027 with construction to follow in FY 2028. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP).
