The Township of Severn currently operates six water treatment and distribution systems, along with three wastewater treatment facilities and collection systems. The Westshore wastewater system operates nine sewage pump stations that convey sewage to one dual SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor) treatment system rated for 1390 m3/day (ADF) and 4768 m3/day Peak Flow. The Coldwater wastewater system operates 4 sewage pump stations that convey sewage to a split treatment system, consisting of one (1) SBR (Sequencing Batch reactor, and one (1 ) return activated treatment system that has a (ADF) of 921 m3/day and a peak flow of 3420 m3/day. The Washago wastéwater system operates 3 sewage pump stations that convey sewage lagoon for treatment. The system is rater for 227.5 m3/day (ADF) and 81,900 m3/year annual flow. The Township services 991 residential and commercial properties in Westshore, 66 residential homes in Sandcastle Estates, 25 residential homes in Severn Estates, 162 residential homes in Bass Lake, 124 residential and commercial properties in Washago and 593 residential and commercial properties in Coldwater The Township owns and maintains a stormwater system consisting of 7.9 kilometers of storm sewer mains, 400 kilometers of open ditches, catch basins, manholes, and 13 stormwater management facilities: Birchcliffe SWM, Birkeshire Woods SWMF, Caswell Creek SWMF, Couch Cove, Gray Street SWMF, Meadowview Court SWMF, North Ridge Estates SWMF, Providence Lane SWMF, Providence Lane SWMF, Rimkey SWMF, South Shore Caden Estates (east and west ponds) SWMF, Tri J SWMF. TIMELINE: The Request For Proposals has closed and is under review with the owner. Township of Severn is seeking to award a consulting engineering firm to prepare a comprehensive water, wastewater, and storm water Servicing Master Plan focusing on the three fully serviced settlement areas, five rural settlement areas, and additional two small municipal drinking water system areas. Timing of an award is not finalized.
