Tree trimming and removal in the city limits of Florissant as directed Contract shall run for a one year period, effective April 1, 2023 through March 31, 2024, with the option to renew for two additional one year contract periods if agreeable to both City and Vendor The type of work expected shall be discussed in person with the Director of Parks and Recreation or his designee before a bid is submitted. The work shall be done under the direction and subject to the inspection of the Director of Parks and Recreation or his duly authorized representative. The Director will determine the amount, acceptability and fitness of the work and will decide all questions which may arise relative to the proper performance of this contract. His decisions shall be final and conclusive All dead, dying, diseased, broken, interfering and superfluous limbs or branches, one (1) inch or more in diameter are to be removed from all trees. Silver Maple and Siberian Elm should be topped when necessary. All trees shall be pruned to give a minimum clearance of 15 feet from all buildings and a minimum clearance of 8 feet from all trees growing on private property. Lower limbs are to be removed to a height of fourteen (14) feet above the street and the sidewalk, except where there is danger of girdling the tree or causing a wound too large to heal properly. In the case of smaller or ornamental trees, good judgment should be used in removing lower limbs to maintain a proper tree like form
