Site work and renovation of a swimming pool in Sacramento, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a swimming pool; and for site work for a swimming pool.

The work shall consist of, but not limited to replaster existing pool, update existing steps bringing them up to code and replace existing tile and lights. Work to be performed under the Contract Documents requires a California State License Board (C53) Swimming Pool Contractor license . Effective July 1, 2014, all contractors and subcontractors who intend to bid on or perform work on public works projects must register and pay a fee to the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and provide evidence of registration for contract award. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations Bid Security - Bid Bond/Cash/Cashiers/Certified check: Bid security in an amount not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid price must be submitted by uploading either an electronic bid bond or digitally signed bond to the District on the portal Each bidder must submit a bid to the District on the system and upload the forms provided in the Contract Documents. The successful bidder must be able to bond 100% of the project cost and will be required to furnish payment and performance bonds with the executed Contract Document The Los Rios Community College District and its Board of Trustees reserves the right to reject any or all bids received and/or waive any minor irregularity of a bid as the public good may require. NOTE: Swimming pool plaster shall comply with the requirements of the most current edition of Chapter 31B of the California Building Code. o Providing plans and obtaining a permit through the Sacramento Building Department. o Provide an updated drain cover certification (AB1020) upon completion. o Ensure that all swimming pool plaster cement shall be white Portland cement conforming to ASTM C-150 Type 1 as manufactured by Federal Cement Corporation or approved equal. o Ensure that Swimming pool aggregate shall be clean, washed, white in color as manufactured by Lhoist- Dolomite White Pool Sand or approved equal. o Ensure that all construction complies with current edition of California Building Code Title 24, Section 3108 B.1-4 Pool Construction. o Drain the pool to an approved drain site. o Erect scaffolding as needed. o Strip/Remove the existing plaster and haul away the spoils to an approved dumpsite. All associated documentation shall be provided. o Leave the substrate sufficiently roughened to allow for good mechanical bond of the new plaster. o Pre-Clean the pool floor and walls prior to applying the new plaster interior finish. o Apply New White Pool Plaster to the floor and Walls. (Follow the Guidelines of plaster application as stated in the most recent National Plasterer's Council Technical Manual. o Replace the Deck mounted depth/ No Diving/No Running Markers. o Install (68) each (6"x6") Non-Slip Markers and Set Flush in the Pool Deck. o Lap Lane/Wall Target Replacement o Remove and Haul Existing Lap Lane and Wall Target Tiles. o Replace 14 Lanes x 12" Wide with "T" End Caps in the same location as the existing lanes. Install Non Slip Black 1"x1" Tile with White Grout o Replace 28 Wall Targets in the same location as the existing targets. Install Non Slip Black 1"x1" Tile with White Grout o Replace (6) White Floor Inlet Fitting "Caps" Install 12"x12" White Tile Surrounds around these (6)Fittings o Replace (36) Black Floor Inlet Fitting "Caps Replace (2) Lawson Aquatics Main Drain Covers (18"x36") o Modify The Pool's Entry Steps to Ensure the Step Thread and Risers are Code Compliant (Current CBC Guidelines) o The Top Step's Tread is under the required 14" Width (Existing Width is 12"). To make the Steps Code Compliant, all step treads would need to be widened by 2". This includes the following : Bringing in a Gunite Sub-Contractor to re-apply gunite to create new entry steps across the width of the entire pool. Demo of the existing steps and adding steel rebar for the new gunite to accommodate this rebuild. Replace the top entry step and risers with 1"x1" White Non Slip Tile Replace the Trim Tile on the entry steps edge (1"x1") and Quarter Rounds. Replace the 4"Wide "Breakline" Tile Stripe across the pool floor at the 4'-6" depth. Replace the Hand Rails over the Entry Steps. Remove the existing handrails and haul away. Provide and Install (11) SR Smith "3-Bend" Style Rails and set to the correct length and height requirements. Connect to existing Bond Wire Ensure that handrails are anchored and secure. o Replace the Existing Pool Lights (ADD ALTERNATE 1) o Remove the existing (22) Pentair Incandescent Pool Lights and Haul Away. o Replace existing lights with (22) Pentair Intellibrite White LED Pool Lights. o Connect to power through the existing Conduit and Junction Boxes. o Test for Operation. o Pool "Start Up" Process, Plaster Brushing and Water Balancing: o Review this process with ARC Staff. o After Pool is re-filled with continuous running fill water "Re-Balancing" the water chemistry. o Brushing the plaster to remove the calcium dust over the course of 14 days after the pool is completely filled. This process shall include the following: Chemical Testing of the source water prior to the re-fill. Adding Calcium Chloride for water hardness (200 to 400ppm) Adding Muriatic Acid for Alkalinity (80 to 120ppm) Adding Muriatic Acid for PH (7.2-7.8) Adding "Orenda 1000" for Stain and Scale Prevention Brush the pool daily for 14 days after the pool is completely full and ensure that the equipment is circulating the pool wate
