Flooring Installation Services CLARIFICATION DEADLINE 3/23/2023 2:00 PM All questions and communications about this request for Proposal and submission requirements must be directed to the City of Waterbury ProcureWare website The City of Waterbury seeks proposals from qualified flooring contractors for the installation of approximately 4,840 sq. ft. of flooring located at the River Baldwin Recreation Center. The City seeks a contractor to complete all related work which shall include removal and disposal of existing cove base and existing carpet squares within the facility. The Contractor is responsible for moving and replacing all furniture and office equipment in the same location after the new flooring is installed. Some of the work will take place outside of regular business hours. Each office will be ready to open for business the next business day unless a previous time agreement was made by the City for the work in that room/office. Offices will be made available for the contractor for evening work and weekend work as to not disrupt the daily operations of the Offices. The work involves installation of new flooring and vinyl cove base. The City will provide floor plans as a general guide to review and plan the work. Before ordering material or starting work, the Contractor shall verify at the building, all dimensions which may affect their work. The floor plans and measurements provided by the City are estimates for reference only. Contractors assume full responsibility for the accuracy of their figures. No allowances for additional compensation will be considered for discrepancies between dimensions referenced in the bid documents and actual field dimensions. Prior to commencement of the project the Contractor will meet with the City's representative and select a reasonable area within the building for onsite storage of material and equipment. The Contractor shall at all times keep the work area and storage area clean of debris. At the end of each work day the Contractor will secure the materials, tools, and equipment being used in preparation of the area being opened to staff and the public the following day. All removed material will be removed from the building after each work day and placed in a trash container provided by the Contractor or removed from the site. The City will utilize the offices for normal operations during the duration of the flooring installation project. The City will coordinate the schedule of work, including areas and time of access to the offices and other public areas with the Contractor. All offices and common areas will use the same flooring color. o All products shall be new and shall be equally rated to the specifications provided herin. The City requires Mannington Commercial Flooring- Spacia Collection or approved equal. Color selection to be made at time of award, City shall select standard color. o Flooring shall be LVT with Micro-beveled edges. Size shall be 6" x 36" and have an overall thickness of 2.5 mm. o Cove base shall be black vinyl 4" x 1/8". Contractor to field verify total footage for cove base. (25% of the work with DAS certified small and Minority owned businesses and 25% of that work with DAS certified Minority, Women and/or Disabled owned businesses.) The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals.
