Strathcona County is seeking proposals from qualified proponents for the design and construction of park shelters, such as gazebos and cookshacks, as required throughout the County. The Place of Work is Rainbow Park, located at 329 Nottingham Blvd, Sherwood Park, AB T8A 5T9, at the Southeast of the existing playground. The requirements for this location generally include, but are not limited to: the design, supply and install of one gazebo shelter; the design of this shelter should reflect the aesthetic of the community and function of the site; the County prefers a more traditional design for this site; the gazebo must be large enough to accommodate a minimum of one standard picnic table; sightlines must be maintained on all four sides; the construction of a concrete pad and foundation; the installation of one (1) county supplied waste receptable at Rainbow Park on concrete pad; the installation of, at minimum, one County supplied picnic table onto concrete slab underneath the gazebo; the construction of a 1.8m concrete walk for accessibility per the Concept Drawings (Attachment 5). The Place of Work is Abbey Park at Appleton Close, Sherwood Park, AB T8H 0G5, located West of the existing playground, at the Southeast corner of Emerald Hills Storm Water Pond. This site is sloped and will require some grading work in order to accommodate for a level concrete surface. The requirements for this location generally include, but are not limited to: The design, supply and install of one gazebo shelter at Abbey Park the design of this shelter should reflect the aesthetic of the community, simple and modern in style; the County prefers a monoslope or cantilever-style structure for this site, however, is open other styles, presuming sightlines of the playground and pond are both maintained; the roof colour should coordinate with the adjacent playground and be either red, yellow, or blue; the gazebo must be large enough to accommodate a minimum of one standard picnic table; the construction of a concrete pad and foundation, including a design solution for the slope (refer to the Concept Drawings (Attachment 5) for grading details); install a safety fence around the playground; the installation of, at minimum, one County supplied picnic table onto concrete slab underneath the gazebo; the construction of a 1.8m concrete walk for accessibility per the Concept Drawings (Attachment 5). The Place of Work is Centennial Park at 4000 Sherwood Dr, Sherwood Park, AB T8H 0M8, located South of the existing playground, adjacent to the West parking lot. The requirements for this location generally include, but are not limited to: The lifecycle replacement of the existing cookshack, which includes supply and install of one new cookshack at Centennial Park (the existing cookshack and concrete pad will be removed by the County and are not the responsibility of the Supplier); the design of this shelter should reflect the current level of service for the existing shelter including the chimney and wood-burning stove; aesthetically, this cookshack should reflect the natural park setting; the shelter should maintain the existing footprint (approximately 35'x20'); the construction of a concrete pad and foundation; the installation of 2 County supplied picnic tables onto concrete slab underneath the cookshack; and the supply and install of a medium to large capacity cast iron stove with no glass (Drolet model# DB03411 or approved equivalent) & chimney for Centennial Cookshack.
