Construction of the VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK IMPROVEMENTS, Phase I, FORMAL BID NO. 2023/04, consists of grading, landscaping, electrical improvements, hardscape, restroom and playground installation and all work required to fulfill the intent of the Plans and Specifications for the project and necessary to render the facility complete and operational. Requests for information or clarification must be submitted IN WRITING and received in the Department of Public Works no later than 5:00 p.m. on Friday, 3/24/2023. Requests may be submitted via e-mail to: tkorman@cityofsantamaria.org. The Design Engineer has calculated an estimate of probable construction costs for this project. The City does not wish to publicize the engineer's estimate of the project cost since this information may tend to influence the number and nature of bids received. However, for the bidder's convenience, the City will publicize that the engineer's estimate for the base bid falls within a range of $500,000 and $600,000. Bids shall be executed on the forms provided in the book of bidding documents and in accordance with the instructions contained therein. A separate, unbound, set of bid forms are provided for the bidder's convenience. The City of Santa Maria reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive all minor irregularities. The City is a charter city and any contracts into which the City enters may be subject to the provisions of its charter, which may supersede certain provisions of the public contract code and other provisions of state law. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document.
