Renovation of a water / sewer project in Bowling Green, Ohio. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

Work Consists of Replacing the Six (6) Tertiary Filter Slide Gates and Six (6) Uv Disinfection Slide Gates. Each Bid Must Contain the Name of Every Interested Person, Firm, or Corporation and Be Accompanied by a Bid Guaranty to the City of Bowling Green as Described in the Contract Documents. The Bid Guaranty May Be of Two Forms: 1. A Bid Guaranty and Contract Bond in the Amount of 100% of the Bid Using the Forms Provided in the Specifications. (the Amount of the Bid Does Not Have to Appear on This Form.) 2. A Certified Check, Cashier's Check or Letter of Credit in Favor of the City of Bowling Green in the Amount of 10% of the Bid. If the Contract is Awarded, a Contract Bond Will Be Required, Which is a 100% Payment and Performance Bond. The Successful Bidder Will Be Required to Submit an Affidavit to the City Finance Director That He Has No Delinquent Personal Property Taxes Charged Against Him on the General Tax List of Personal Property in Wood County, Ohio, at the Time This Bid Was Submitted. Bids Received After the Scheduled Bid Opening Date and Time, or Not Accompanied by a Satisfactory Bid Guaranty, Will Neither Be Read Nor Considered. The Successful Bidder and Any and All Subcontractors Must Comply With the Provisions of the Ohio Revised Code, Chapter 4115, and Will Be Required to Enter Into a Separate Public Improvement Agreement With the Owner Prior to the Execution of the Contract Documents. A Sample Copy of Said Public Improvement is Included in the Appendix. The Successful Bidder Will Not Discriminate Against Any Employee or Applicant for Employment Because of Race, Religion, Color, Sex, National Origin, Disability or Age. The Successful Bidder Will Take Affirmative Action to Ensure That Applicants for Employment Are Considered for Employment and That Employees Treated During Employment, Without Regard to Their Race, Religion, Color, Sex, National Origin, Disability or Age. The Successful Bidder Will Also Incorporate the Requirements of This Paragraph in All of Its Respective Contracts for Subcontracted Work. Further, He/she Agrees That They and Any Subcontractor Shall Comply With Ohio Administrative Code 5501-1-02, Appendix B, State Equal Employment Opportunity Covenant. The City of Bowling Green, Ohio Reserves the Right to Reject Any and All Bids and to Waive Any Irregularity in Any Bid and to Determine the Lowest and Best Bidder. No Bidder May Withdraw His Bid for a Period of 60 Days After the Scheduled Closing Time for the Receipt of Bids. The City of Bowling Green Reserves the Right to Award Only the Base Bid Items or Base Bid Items Along With the Alternate Bid Items Listed in This Invitation to Bid. The contract documents, including drawings and specifications, are on file at the office of the Director of Utilities, City Administrative Services Building, 304 North Church Street, Bowling Green, Ohio and the Engineer--Kleinfelder, Inc. (KLF) Every request for such interpretation should be in writing addressed to: Steven R. Wonderly, P.E., Project Manager Leader at 1168 North Main Street, Bowling Green, Ohio 43402 and to be given consideration must be received at leastsix days prior to the date fixed for the opening of Bids. Work associated with this project includes modifications to the WPCF indicated in the Contract Documents. a. Replace the six (6) tertiary filter slide gates. b. Replace six (6) UV disinfection slide gates. c. Remove and reinstall the AUMA actuators on all 12 slide gates. d. Connect the tertiary filter slide gates to the WPCF SCADA. The existing plant will remain in operation during construction. a. Work will need to be scheduled to prevent plant outages. b. As stated under the Continuous Treatment Provisions in the Instructions to Bidders, the contractor is responsible for any bypass pumping required to complete the project. c. The UV slide gates shall be replaced between November 1, 2023 and April 1, 2024 d. The tertiary filter slide gates replacement should be coordinated with the WPCF staff.
