The scope of work includes all labor and materials to replace hot water basin on Marley NC8304 Cooling Tower 1 and Marley NC8304 Cooling Tower 2 located on the roof of the Haley Building. Scope of work: 1. All work to be done in accordance with the below scope of work provided on the follow page. 2. All materials, fabrics, finish materials and specifications to be included in bid package. 3. Scope of work is for reference only, it is highly recommended for contractor(s) to perform a site visit per the scheduled site visit. 4. All questions will be presented to Glen Fox, Director of Facilities Management (978-630- 6267) Scope of Work General Scope: The scope of work includes all labor and materials to replace hot water basin on Marley NC8304 Cooling Tower #1 and Marley NC8304 Cooling Tower #2. Additional information and photos are available below, but it is highly recommended to attend site visit scheduled March 22, 2023 at 9:00 AM. Cooling Tower #1 Replacement of hot water basin on Marley NC8304 Cooling Tower 1 located on the roof of the Haley Building. Materials to include but not limited to: basins, basin covers, nozzles, gaskets, sealer and associated hardware. Original hot water basin is corroded and has large holes and missing nozzles. This scope consists of rigging and installing new Marley factory replacement basin kit, front and back wall, distribution box and flume. Factory start up and disposal of all old material must be included in the bid. Cooling Tower #2 Replacement of hot water basin on Marley NC8304 Cooling Tower 2 located on the roof of the Haley Building. Materials to include but not limited to: basins, basin covers, nozzles, gaskets, sealer and associated hardware. Original hot water basin is corroded and has large holes and missing nozzles. Requests for Interpretation: A: Bidders shall promptly notify the Awarding Authority of ambiguity, inconsistency or error which may be discovered upon examination of the Contract Documents, the site, and local conditions. B: Bidders requiring clarification or interpretation of the Contract Documents shall make a request to the Owner/Architect. The Owner/Architect will answer requests, in writing via addendum, if received not later than seven (7) calendar days before the date for receipt of the bids. All questions should be submitted in writing via email to gfox1@mwcc.mass.edu C: Interpretation, correction or change in the Contract Documents will be made by an Addendum which shall become part of the Contract Documents. Not later than 3 calendar days prior to receipt of bids, Addenda will be delivered by electronic mail to every individual or firm on record as having Contract Documents via regular mail. Failure of the Owner or Architect to send, or of a Bidder to receive, Addenda, will not relieve the Bidder from obligation under a bid as submitted. D: Throughout the bidding and construction process, interpretations which affect the cost of the Work shall be made in writing. Neither the Awarding Authority nor the Architect shall be responsible for oral instructions or oral interpretations. Verbal instructions or interpretations shall not be cause to amend the contract price or bid
