Alterations to the CCIU Learning Center Commission Number 727 Chester County Intermediate Unit. The Chester County School Authority/Chester County Intermediate Unit will receive sealed proposals for Renovations to the CCIU Learning Center Project located at 1635 East Lincoln Highway, Coatesville, Chester County, Pennsylvania. The Owner is requesting bids to be made "net of insurance" and will award the Contract to the lowest responsible bidder "net of insurance," all as more thoroughly described in the Contract Documents. Under this approach, Contractors and Subcontractors must remove the cost of Owner provided insurance from the Base Bid price. The lowest responsible bidder will be determined on a "net of insurance" basis. In other words, the Base Bid is to be identified by the Contractor excluding costs and expenses for General Liability, Umbrella/Excess Liability, Workers' Compensation, and Builder's Risk Insurance as delineated in the contract documents. Alternate Bids and Unit Prices are also to be set forth excluding cost for such insurance. The Owner will select which alternates it desires and will determine the low bidder based upon the bids without insurance being provided by the Contractor. Sealed bids will be received for any and/or all of the following separate Prime Contracts, which includes all work indicated on the Contract Documents: Contract No. 1: General Construction. Contract No. 2: Mechanical Construction. Contract No. 3: Electrical Construction. The Architect is not responsible for completeness of Bidding Documents and/or Addenda obtained through sources other than the Architect's office. Proposals must be submitted on the Bid Forms included in the Bid Documents or on identical forms in a sealed envelope and addressed to the Owner at or before the time above mentioned. Proposals submitted on forms other than as stated will be disregarded. Proposals must be accompanied by a certified check and or bond, with corporate surety authorized to do business in Pennsylvania. This project is subject to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act, approved August 15, 1961, P.L. 987 (Act No. 442), as amended and supplemented, and reference is made to the prevailing minimum wage rates applicable to this project which has been promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry. Bidders shall refer to provisions of the Federal and State statutes, rules and regulations dealing with the prevention of environmental pollution and the preservation of the public natural resources that affect the project; said statement of provisions being submitted, as part of the specifications, pursuant to Section 3301 of the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Procurement Code, 62 Pa.C.S.
