Demolition, site work and renovation of a playground / park / athletic field in Lafayette, Louisiana. Completed plans call for the renovation of a playground / park / athletic field; for the demolition of a playground / park / athletic field; and for site work for a playground / park / athletic field.
This contract b project shall consist of furnishing and installing a 4,700 square foot rubber mulch surfacing With accompanying playground set, site accessories, new covered 24' x 26' pavilion, demolition of existing Bathroom building, and associated work. No pre-bid conference will be held on this project. Only the bids of Prime contractors licensed under louisiana contractor's licensing law under chapter 24 of title 37 of the Louisiana revised statutes will be considered for bids exceeding $50,000.00. Should the bid exceed $50,000.00, contractors desiring to bid shall hold license of proper classification under "Heavy construction" And/or specialty: recreation and sporting facilities and golf courses" in full force and effect at the time Drawings, specifications, and forms are requested from the office of the engineers. The owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids for Just cause; such actions will be in accordance with title 38 of the louisiana revised statutes. No bidder may Withdraw his/her bid within forty-five (45) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. Treasury circular 570, licensed to do business in the state of louisiana, In the amounts and for the purpose stated, and subject to the owner's approval: 1. Bid bond: a "Bid guarantee" Equivalent to 5% of the bid price consisting of a firm commitment, such as a bid bond, certified check, Cashier's check, money order, or other negotiable instrument shall accompany each bid as assurance that the Bidder will, upon acceptance of his bid, execute such contractual documents as may be required and within The time specified. 2. Performance bond: a performance bond of not less than 100% of the contract price Shall be executed to assure the contractor's faithful performance of the contract. 3. Payment bond: a Payment bond of not less than 100% of the contract price shall be executed to assure payment as required by Law of all persons supplying labor and material in the performance of the work provided by the contract. SCOPE OF WORK The demolition work shall include all labor, materials, equipment, permits, and services necessary for the completion of the demolition of the structures, removal of all materials from the premises, and the leveling of the property. The Contractor shall take all necessary precautions he deems necessary (i.e., temporary barricades and other protection) to protect people, adjoining buildings, and property. The Contractor shall be experienced in demolition work similarin extent to that called for in this project and shall have all the necessary equipment and labor necessary to perform this type of work. The work will be limited to daylight hours in order to provide minimal disturbances to the surrounding residents. The Contractor shall conduct demolition and debris removal operations to ensureminimuminterference with roads, streets,walks, and other adjacent occupied properties. The Contractor shall insure that all utility services are properly disconnected from the unit, capped or sealed at the connection to the utility main, and abandoned in place, unless otherwise directed by the Utility Company or Engineer. The Contractor shall contact and make the necessary arrangements to disconnect the electrical service, telephone service, cable TV service, gas service, and water and sewer service, unless the Utility Company requires that the Owner request to shut them off. The Contractor shall coordinate the removal, disposal, or abandonment of on-site metering devices, wiring, or service lines with the utility providers as required. The Contractor shall notify the Engineer as to these arrangements and verify that the utilities have been disconnected prior to proceeding with demolition of the structures. Existing utility stubs in the slab shall be cut flush with the slab and filled with pressure grout material. The Owner of the structure to be demolished has indicated no knowledge of hazardousmaterials existing on the site. However, if the Contractor encounters or suspects the presence of hazardous materials, he shall notify the Owner and Engineer immediately. The Contractor shall be required to completely demolish the primary structure to the existing slab (slab to remain). The Contractor shall remove all demolition debris including exposed water, gas and sewer stubs, and any stockpiled items fromthe premises. Allmaterials removed fromthe site may be salvaged by the Contractor or shall be properly disposed of in a permitted facility. The Contractor shall not stockpile materials on the site or in hauling vehicles for an extended period of time, but shall remove the materials from the site as soon as possible. The Contractor shall remove and transport debris in a manner that will prevent spillage on adjacent surfaces and areas. Burning of demolished materials is not permitted. The Contractor shall remove any concrete or grout bonded to the slab by chipping, grinding, or sanding the material down to the slab.
