Site work for a water / sewer project in Virginia, Minnesota. Working plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The Regional Landfill is key to the County integrated waste management system. Leachate collected from the landfill has been land applied by the County for 25 years. Environmental Services will replace and upgrade its current leachate system. The new system will include a control building (computers/electrical/motors), three 6-milliongallon High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) lined aeration/denitrification ponds, an engineered manufactured wetland, and a leachate purification system. Project is in Saint Louis County capital budget fy 2024-2028. As of December 12, 2024, project is funded for construction in FY2025. Project is currently out for bids and expected to be complete and operational in 2026. Design team has not been identified. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly.
