As of July 24, 2023, an architect has been selected, however, information regarding the selection of a general contractor or a timeline for construction have not been confirmed at this time. The City of East Providence is seeking services of highly qualified firms with expertise in conducting Police Department Renovation Analysis for the Police Department currently located at 750 Waterman Ave, East Providence RI 02914. The purpose and intent of the project is to produce a study of the current layout and determine how to maximize the existing space of the building as well as the space created by moving the communication center offsite. The selected firm will conduct interviews and/or group meetings related to current systems. The firm will also conduct a space assessment to determine what current needs are met and which are not to allow all East Providence Police Department functions/services to be adequately performed. This assessment will include a space-by-space definition of the elements needed for a facility based on current usage, desired new amenities, and potential future growth needs. The City reserves the right to reject any/or all companies, to waive any informality in the proposal statement and to accept the proposal of any company based on what the City deems to be in its best interest.
