Furnish ALL materials, labor and equipment necessary to properly prepare and seal pavement cracks and joints per current Ohio Department of Transportation Construction and Materials Specifications. 2. Crack-sealing materials and methods of application shall conform to ODOT ITEM 423, Crack Sealing, Hot Applied, using ODOT ITEM 702.17, Type III ONLY. 3. Weed and grass removal shall be part of the joint preparation. All remaining dirt and debris shall be air blown clean immediately before placing crack seal material. This includes continuous joint at asphalt pavement and concrete curb. 4. Work shall include ALL crack joints, pavement repair joints, and edge / gutter joints against curb and follow pavement into the opposing street intersections up to the nearest crosswalk line. 5. Traffic control will be maintained by the Contractor at all times during Work. Contractor shall be responsible for safely conducting vehicular traffic around the rolling work zone as approved by the City by using flaggers at each end to provide one open lane at all times. 6. Traffic to be allowed on the sealed cracks immediately after the work zone passes. Sealant must be ready for traffic without damage to sealant or vehicles by using a detacking agent or means and methods as required achieving a traffic-ready surface at no additional cost to the City. 7. Any damage to properties due to advancing work zone prior to sealant being ready for traffic will be cleaned by the Contractor to the satisfaction of the City at no additional cost Area of Work 1.
