Site work for a road / highway in Columbus, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR), Division of Geological Survey (DGS) seeks a proposal from a supplier to perform coring of glacial unconsolidated sediments throughout planned mapping areas across the state of Ohio. Coring services are required for the 2023-2028 field seasons. Core samples must be continuous in the form of rotosonic, wire-line corer, macro corer, or any other method that will guarantee to deliver a representative soil sample. Exact borehole construction specifications will be determined after the drilling site has been selected. The supplier will work with the DGS to determine the bore hole constructions specifications that will lead to the highest quality recovery of unconsolidated glacial sediments on a site-specific basis. A quality borehole is defined by the completeness (recovery) and preservation of sedimentary structures (bedding, layering, geologic unit contacts, faults, and fossils). Each borehole should extend vertically throughout unconsolidated sediments and will be considered complete once bedrock is undisputedly reached. Suppliers are expected to mitigate the drill site upon completion of the boring including, cleaning up and removing trash/debris, raking or shoveling spoils/cuttings, and infilling ruts.
