The Project generally involves the preparation of Almaden, Berryessa, and Evergreen Community Centers to be used as temporary emergency shelters. The project scope is to prepare each site to be connection-ready for a temporary generator. The additional scope includes new connections for the dryer and washer, and new portable storage installation. 1.Improvements of the three (3) Community Centers (Almaden, Berryessa, and Evergreen) per the signed and approved construction document (CD). The Contractor shall start construction work at Almaden and, upon completion, move to the Evergreen and Berryessa Community Centers. 2. Upgrade the Fire Alarm System at Almaden Community Center per the CD. The Contractor shall submit a deferred submittal to the City of San Jose CFAS Department and San Jose Fire Department for approval and the fire alarm permit. The contractor shall coordinate with the building fire alarm vendor and be responsible for all the costs associated with the coordination. Fire Department permit cost to be paid by the Contractor. 3. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing a fire watch following the "Fire Watch Policy Issued by San Jose Fire Department" in case the existing Fire Alarm System has to be taken off-line for any reason.
