Renovation of a municipal facility in Barrie, Ontario. Design plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.

Renovation of City Hall, including the eight floors at Barrie City Hall and one floor at 56 Mulcaster Street, which is adjacent to City Hall. In 2019 the third floor of City Hall was designed and renovated to create an open workspace to promote collaboration and utilize the floor plate efficiently to create a functional work environment for City employees. The balance of floors in City Hall (i.e., floors 1, 2, and 4 to 9) are planned to be renovated with similar open concept layouts and an objective to minimized offices and furniture clutter. The intent of the renovation design for the balance of the floors at City Hall is to build on the success of the open workspace design on the third floor, with minor modifications to support specific stakeholder needs. It is also the intent to work toward the City Hall being a Net Zero building. TIMELINE: Request for Proposal for design services has been awarded. Preliminary design is underway; design expected to take 12-18 months to complete. Tender and construction timelines may be confirmed late 2023.
