The Town of Wellesley, acting through its Department of Public Works, invites bids for: Sidewalks & Curbing Installation and Replacement All questions or inquiries pertaining to this contract should be addressed to Michael Quinn, Highway Division, Town of Wellesley, Department of Public Works, 20 Municipal Way, Wellesley Hills, MA 02481 or telephone at (781) 235-7600, ext. 3325 or e-mail mquinn@wellesleyma.gov Project work will include the installation and replacement of granite curbing and cement concrete or bituminous concrete sidewalks and ADA ramps at various locations in the Town of Wellesley. This contract shall be made available to other Town of Wellesley Departments and Boards. Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or a treasurer's or cashier's check issued by a responsible bank or trust company, payable to the Town of Wellesley. Bid deposit shall be not less than 5% (five percent) of the total bid price. The results and a copy of the recorded bid opening will also be available after the event has taken place. All bids for this contract are subject to the provisions of the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 30, Section 39M, as amended. Attention is directed to the minimum wage rates to be paid on the work as determined by the Commissioner of Labor and Industries under the Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 149, Section 26 to 27D, inclusive. Every contractor or sub-contractor on public works projects are required to submit a certified payroll to the Town of Wellesley every week in accordance with M.G.L. c. 149, S27B. No such envelope shall contain more than one bid. The Department of Public Works reserves the right to accept any bid item or reject any and all proposals, as in its sole judgment, the best interest of the Town of Wellesley would be served by so doing.
