Site work for a mixed-use development in Wichita, Kansas. Conceptual plans call for site work for a playground / park / athletic field; and golf course.

As of May 5, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. This project is included in Sedgwick County Capital Improvement Plan fiscal year 2023 budget. A firm timeline for construction has not been identified; however, funding is allotted to fiscal year 2027. The closed solicitation has been included below for reference. Develop the grounds from the Judge Riddel Boys Ranch (JRBR) into usable park land. This will consist of a vault toilet, fitness trail/course, and disc golf course. This project will provide a fitness course/trail, disc golf course, and a restroom facility, to go along with the existing backstop/ball field that was not removed as part of the JRBR demolition. New parking will not be needed as current parking areas were not removed as part of the demolition. The new amenities will provide an opportunity for people to get out and exercise, play ball, and play disc golf. Park staff has received requests from the public for these type amenities at the County's parks. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change. The content management team will continue to pursue additional details as they become available.
