The City of East Grand Rapids is commencing city wide improvements to community recreational sites because of a successful Parks Improvement Millage that was supported by the community in November of 2021. Millage proceeds will provide funding for multiple park improvement projects within the City of East Grand Rapids that were originally identified during the 2020 Community Parks and Recreation Master Plan process (Exhibit C) and supported through the passing of the Parks Improvement Millage. Manhattan Park is scheduled to receive infrastructure improvements in 2024, inclusive of new playground structures, a new restroom facility, shade structures, renovated tennis/pickleball courts, added parking, improved pedestrian site access and a community splash pad.
