Any incidental or additional work required to fulfill the requirements of the specified work shall be considered a part of said specified work and no additional payment shall be made. All work shall be performed in accordance with the prevailing code for the trade or trades involved and shall be done in a first-class workmanship manner. Inferior or shoddy workmanship or materials will not be tolerated nor accepted for payment. It shall be fully understood that the Department of Public Works shall make the final decision as to the acceptance of all work and material and that in the event of an adverse decision, no claim of any sort shall be made against the county or any of its employees, agents, or assigns. II. Parking Lot Paving 1. General 1.01 Summary A. This work includes surface preparation, hot mix asphalt (HMA) paving, and placement of stone at the existing parking area of the Parks and Recreation Department Office. B. Base Bid scope includes asphalt pavement overlay of existing paved area, approximately 14,800 square feet in area. A portion of the existing stone parking area is included within the base bid scope, to provide a 'squared' limit of paving. C. Add-Alternate 1 scope includes milling a depth of four inches (4"), compaction of existing subgrade material and two-and-one-half inch (2.5") asphalt base course paving over the base bid area. Amount bid for Add-Alternate 1 shall be costs for milling and base paving only. This item shall not include any costs associated with the Base Bid scope of work. D. Add-Alternate 2 scope includes asphalt paving overlay of the existing stone parking area, approximately 11,500 square feet in area. Limit of subject scope shall extend from limit of Base Bid to the extent of existing stone area. E. Add-Alternate 3 scope includes excavation and placement of six inches (6") of stone over nonwoven geotextile fabric at the existing trailer area, approximately 2,500 square feet in area. F. Each Bid Item shall include parking space line striping, to match existing layout, in the respective lump sum bid amount. G. Refer to attached Appendix A for existing conditions of the current site, and Appendix B for graphical depiction of limits described above and herein (final pages of RFP).
