Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Waukon, Iowa. Completed plans call for paving for a road / highway; for site work for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.
The extent of the work consists of the reconstruction of 4th Street NW from 5th Avenue NW to 8th Avenue NW with an asphalt street and concrete curb and gutter with subsidiary utility work. The sidewalk along the north side of 8th Avenue NW will also be added from 4th Street NW to 2nd Street NW with an alternate bid for a sidewalk from 2nd Street NW to Allamakee Street, located in the City of Waukon, Iowa. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a construction performance, payment, and maintenance bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Said bonds to be issued by a responsible surety approved by the City Council and shall guarantee the faithful performance of the contract and the terms and conditions therein contained and the maintenance of said improvements in good repair from the time of acceptance of the improvements by the City for not less than two (2) years. The City of Waukon reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Contractor shall fully complete in 50 working days, with an additional 10 working days upon approval of Alternate 1, with a late start date of July 5, 2023. Liquidated Damages in the amount of $600.00 per Working Day will be assessed for each Working Day that any work shall remain uncompleted beyond the number of Working Days allowed.
