Site work for an educational facility in Maumee, Ohio. Completed plans call for site work for a 20,000-square-foot educational facility.
Furnishing the necessary labor, equipment, tools and materials for site improvements at Union Elementary School. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Guarantee and Contract Bond in the amount of 100% of the bid; or a certified check; cashier's check or letter of credit in the amount of 10% of the bid which will require a 100% Performance Bond upon award of the contract. All bids shall be submitted on forms of proposal supplied by the Architect. All bidders, by bidding, agree to pay wages not less than the minimum as determined by the State of Ohio, Department of Industrial Relations, and agree to comply with Executive Order No. 11246 of the President of the United States. The Board of Education, Maumee City Schools reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities in bidding. No Bidder may withdraw his or her bid for a period of sixty (60) days after bid opening. A. Questions for this Project shall be directed to the Architect's Office. B. Each Bidder is responsible for calling to the attention of the Architect ambiguities, inconsistencies, discrepancies, errors or omissions, which occur in the Contract Documents for his part of the Work. Failing to request clarification, the Bidder will be expected to overcome such conditions without additions to his bid prices. C. Prospective bidders in doubt as to the true meaning of a part of the Drawings, Specifications, or other Contract Documents shall submit to the Architect, not less than five (5) days before closing time for bids, a written request for interpretation or clarification. D. Bidders are instructed to request interpretations and the issuing of addenda if the Contract Documents call for materials, equipment, or methods that adversely affect the cost of quality of the Project or are unavailable. Item 1 - Single Prime Contract 1. This proposal consists of demolition 20,000sf+ playground site area and restoration of the site for new fencing, concrete, grading, seeding, Rubber surface, mulch, drainage, which prepares the site for the installation of Playground equipment by another contractor. This Section includes: 1. Administrative and procedural requirements for quality-control services, including inspections, tests, and reports performed by Contractor. 2. Administrative and procedural requirements for coordination, preconstruction and progress meetings. B. Description 1. The contractor shall be responsible for all quality control associated with the project. Periodic oversight by the Architect, other authorized personnel, to include submittal approvals, in no way relieves the contractor of this responsibility. 2. All testing shall be divided into three (3) categories as follows: a) Field tests made at the project site as part of the actual construction. b) Factory tests made at the point of manufacture of various products which are shipped to the project site as a unit. c) Certified tests made by approved testing agencies on material and/or equipment which is to be incorporated into the project. This type of testing includes that performed by Factory Mutual, Underwriters' Laboratories, etc.
