Any addenda must be noted and initialed The Contractor has examined the proposal, permits, plans and the location of work described here in and is fully informed as to the nature of the work and the conditions relating to its performance. Proposals will be received from contractors having a current (N3) prequalification with the Michigan Department of Transportation. The Contractor hereby proposes to furnish all the necessary materials, labor and equipment needed to place the bid items throughout Tuscola County or state highways under the maintenance jurisdiction of the Tuscola County Road Commission. The markings shall be placed in conformance with the 2011 Michigan Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, as amended, and shall meet the requirements of Section 811 and 920 of the 2020 Standard Specifications for Construction, and as herein specified. General: This work shall be at various locations throughout Tuscola County or state highways under the maintenance jurisdiction of the Tuscola County Road Commission. The work shall consist of one or more applications of longitudinal or special pavements markings applied to the prepared surface. Work will include approximately 80-100 miles of restriping primary roadways, 50 miles of layout and painting for new construction, and 10 railroad crossings countywide. Schedule: Contractor shall provide the Tuscola County Road Commission 48 hours advance notice prior to mobilize to allow for advance construction signs to be installed and any prep work to be completed. Tuscola County Road Commission will provide a list of locations to the contractor as Townships authorize local road projects. All work shall be completed by the Seasonal Limitations as specified by the 2020 MDOT Standard Specifications for Construction unless otherwise approved by the Engineer. Liquidated damages may be assessed at a rate of $100.00 per day per project. The Board reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals and to re-advertise or to accept the proposal, that in their opinion, is in the best interest of Tuscola County.
