Renovation of a mixed-use development in Armada, Michigan. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

Bidders shall be able to demonstrate the following: Shall be a reputable, recognized organization with at least (5) years successful experience on work of this type and scope, of equal or better quality than this project. Work Schedule Work hours: 6:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. M-F Project shall be completed by: Friday, August 18, 2023 The Contractor shall be responsible to clean-up all debris and dispose of it off-site. This must be done daily. If the District has to clean up after contractors, there will be a $500 per event fee in addition to disposal costs. A survey of the site will be conducted, and documented by the contractor, to determine current site conditions. The contractor shall be responsible to repair any damage to the site, which occurs during this project. In compliance with MCL 380.1267, the bid shall be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing any familial relationship that exists between the owner or any employee of the bidder and any member of the board, or the superintendent of the district. The bid shall also be accompanied by a sworn and notarized statement disclosing whether the bidder is an Iran Linked Business in compliance with PA 517 of 2012. The Board shall not accept a bid that does not include these sworn and notarized disclosure statements. Certified check or Bid Bond must accompany each proposal by an approved surety company in an amount not less than 5% of the proposal amount. All bids shall be firm for at least 60 days from the date of opening of bids. Length of time required for completion shall be specified in the bid. All bids submitted must meet or exceed all specifications herein. Bids are to be submitted on our Bid Proposal Form, signed by the bidder, in a sealed envelope clearly marked; "Carpet/Tile Replacement Bid". Two (2) copies of the Bid Proposal Form should be addressed to the attention of: Don Penzien Department of Buildings and Grounds Armada Area Schools 74500 Burk St. Armada MI, 48005 The Armada Area Schools Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in whole or in part; or, for reasons of establishing uniformity, delivery time or preference, to award the contract to other than the low bidder. Project Manager Don Penzien dpenzien@armadaschools.org (586)-784-2143 Work shall include but not be limited to: a. furnishing and installation of carpet/VCT/LVT, base molding, adhesives, underlayment and trim accessories. b. where applicable, removal of the existing carpeting, VCT tile and base molding. c. warranty the installation for a period of not less than two years from date of acceptance. 1.2 Rooms to be carpeted/tiled are as designated on the enclosed floor plans which are included in this package 1.3 Sites will be available on June 7th, 2023 . Sequencing of work will be coordinated between the Owner and the contractor. The building staff will be responsible for the removal of furniture and fixtures that are in the work area. 2.0 - SCOPE OF WORK: 2.1 Where required, remove and dispose of old carpeting, tile, and base in accordance with all applicable ordinances, law and regulation. If shoe molding is present, remove with care and reinstall after carpet installation. 2.2 Prepare floor to receive new product in accordance with the Manufacturer's instructions. Repair minor holes, cracks, depressions and rough areas using materials recommended by carpet and/or adhesive manufacturer. 2.3 Commencement of installation constitutes acceptance of surface condition(s) by the flooring Contractor. 2.4 Carpet shall be glued to a new or existing surface. Adhesives shall be water-resistant, non-staining as recommended by carpet manufacturer, which complies with flammability requirements for installed carpet. After laying, lightly roll entire carpet to eliminate air pockets and ensure a uniform bond. 2.5 Seaming cement shall be a hot melt adhesive or similar product recommended by carpet manufacturer for taping seams and butting cut edges at backing. The seam cementing shall produce a secure seam, which will prevent pile loss. Seams at door shall be centered under the door; do not place seams in traffic direction at a doorway. 2.6 Install new vinyl base in all areas where carpet abuts walls, columns, pilasters, casework or other permanent fixtures in the room / area. Base thickness shall be .080".
