Evaluation completion date 04/24/2023 Deadline for Question Monday 04/10/2023 @2:00 pm MST LIQUIDATED DAMAGES: The undersigned agrees that, from the compensation otherwise to be paid, the Owner may retain the sum of $500.00 for each calendar day after the Substantial Completion Date that the work remains incomplete, which sum is agreed upon as the proper measure of liquidated damages which the Owner will sustain per diem by the failure of the Undersigned to complete the work at the time stipulated in the Contract. BID BONDS: The undersigned shall include a Certified Check or Proposal Bond Payable to The University of Texas at El Paso, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the largest possible total proposed PAYMENT AND PERFORMANCE BONDS: The undersigned agrees to execute the Payment and Performance Bonds within ten (10) calendar days, in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, after notification that the Respondent has been identified by the Owner as the Respondent with the best value Proposal. The bonds shall be in the full contract amount This project consists of removing and replacing the existing clay tile roofing system on two sections of roof (East and North) on the Geology building located on the West end of the campus of the University of Texas at El Paso. The project will begin after the spring semester is completed on May 15, 2023 to minimize pedestrian traffic around the jobsite. The contractor shall: Ensure that all OSHA safety requirements are met (fall protection, securing the area, etc.). The areas underneath shall be fenced to prevent pedestrians from entering the work area. Remove all tiles that are to be replaced per scope and dispose of waste materials utilizing contractor- provided dumpster. Remove existing materials to the deck. Replace (as needed) damaged or worn wood and deck materials. Install a self-adhering clay or concrete tile roof underlayment that can withstand elevated rooftop temperatures (example: Garland). Install all perimeter materials and flashings per manufacturer's specifications for a watertight seal. Install owner-approved clay tiles with a minimum of 30-year warranty (50-year preferred). Provide all materials, labor, and equipment needed for a complete roofing system. A payment bond for projects over $25,000 is required (bond template will be provided to awarded contractor). Additionally, performance bond for projects over $100,000 is required (bond template will be provided to awarded contractor). A HUB subcontracting plan (HSP) is required for projects over $70,000. Please provide a breakdown of labor and material in your proposal. A separate line should be included for bonding amount (dependent upon total of contractor's project price [see bond thresholds above). Provide owner with detail of 5-year contractor warranty in proposal. Provide owner with detail of a 15-year underlayment warranty in proposal. Provide owner with detail of (minimum) 30-year clay tile manufacturer warranty in proposal. Add Alternate 1 Replace gutter on the Northwest corner of the building. Seal window below and wall behind.
