Durango Hills Summer and Fall Road Maintenance La Plata County is seeking bids for the maintenance and road repair, during the Summer and Fall seasons, on those roads designated by the Durango Hills Road Improvement District Advisory Committee and as described in Resolution No. 1997-21 of the La Plata County Board of County Commissioners dated March 16, 1997, a copy of which is included in this package as Exhibit A. A map depicting the roads referenced in the resolution is included in the package as Exhibit B. The bids generally shall be awarded by the Board of County Commissioners, County Manager, or Procurement Manager. It is the bidder s responsibility to verify the exact date of the award. The County reserves the right to amend or cancel a solicitation. Any bid response to a solicitation issued by the County may be rejected, in whole or in part, when in the best interest of the County. The County reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities and minor irregularities in bids, and to accept the bid deemed, in its opinion, to be in the best interest of La Plata County. This bid will be conducted in accordance with the regulations set forth in the La Plata The most important aspect of the project is the safety of the public. To ensure public safety, the Contractor will be responsible for the following: o A Project Safety Plan and Traffic Coordination/Closure Plan. o Project maintenance - Temporary and/or permanent changes to drainage, including protection from any collected flows near the roadside. o Coordination with property owners concerning continued driveway accessibility, replacement of irrigation system, and fencing of stock pasture, if any. o Temporary construction activities that are partially complete or complete, that may endanger the traveling public, shall be protected at all times with proper traffic control devices as defined by the latest MUTCD standards, including after project hours and weekends. All said related devices shall be incidental to the work and shall not be paid for separately unless defined otherwise by the Contract/Agreement documents. o Any accidents or damages to private property and citizen vehicles, including windshields, will be paid for by the Contractor and reported to the County's Project Manager. Photographs shall be taken and submitted with reports. o Coordination of Contractor's work with subcontractors, utility companies and the public in general. o The repair or replacement of any fencing, landscaping, waterlines, irrigation systems, or utility lines damaged during the construction. All materials shall be kept away from landowners' fencing at all times
