Morehead State University (MSU) seeks proposals to establish a personal services contract for architectural and engineering consulting on the Science & Engineering Building Project located on the campus of Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky. The selected Architect/ Engineering consultants will become a responsible member of the Owner's professional team for design and construction administration in order to assure the project is completed within budget, program, and schedule. Architectural and Engineering Consultants seeking to provide services should have demonstrated specialized experience in programming, planning, and design of similar educational facilities. The Architectural and Engineering Agreement will be for space programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and contract administration. This proposal will include the analysis, development and planning of the pre-determined scope of work. Located behind the Howell-McDowell Administration Building, the new $98 million science and engineering building will prepare students for the 21st-century job market and contribute to the region's economic transformation. This 123,000-square-foot facility will house academic programs, including biology, chemistry, physics, geoscience, computer science, engineering, and manufacturing. As of June 17, 2024, design is underway and expected to be completed this fall. Construction is anticipated to start in Fall 2024 and be completed by Spring 2027. It will replace Lappin Hall and the Lloyd-Cassity Building.
