As of April 21 the project has not yet been awarded. A timeline for award has not yet been established . Mesa Unified School District #4 is requesting sealed bids from qualified vendors to furnish all labor, material, and services required to install and repair fabric and steel shade structures throughout Mesa Unified School District #4. Mesa Schools is comprised of 200 square miles with approximately 100 schools and facilities. Structures will be ordered on an “as needed” basis. The awarded vendor shall be required to visit the site and be responsible for accurately measuring all areas. The quote shall be based on current bid pricing for the exact structure and sent to the purchasing department. Quotes shall include a breakout of items corresponding to bid prices, indicating quantity, unit cost and extended cost of each item. Quotes shall not be sent directly to the school or site. All structures shall be ordered through the purchasing department on a purchase order. No structures are to be paid directly by the school or parent organization. All structures shall be authorized and inspected by MPS Construction Department. It is estimated that the District spends approximately $750,000.00 each year on fabric and steel shade structures.
