Alberta Health Services invites Bids in respect of supply of materials, equipment, and labour for the East Parking Structure 2023 repair program at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta. The Work involves, but is not necessarily limited to the following: Localized "thick" system repairs at areas of leakage, leakage staining, and debonded vertical terminations (including Level 5 light standard bases). Includes asphalt and waterproofing membrane removal, surface preparation of the exposed concrete substrate, new waterproof membrane and asphalt wearing surface, application of surface sealer at repair areas. Scraping and painting of soffit areas below "thick" system repair areas is also required. Replacement of cracked and damaged stair treads, at areas designated by Consultant. Includes new steel tread nosings, where required. Thin traffic deck coating enhancement at designated stairwells. Includes all required surface preparation, sealant materials, and terminations. Thin traffic deck coating enhancement at designated Level 5 exterior stairwell landings. Includes all required surface preparation, sealant materials, and terminations. Removal of existing thin traffic deck coating materials, and new PUMA traffic deck coating system at designated precast concrete panel locations on Level 1. Includes all required surface preparation, sealant materials, and terminations. Removal of existing thin traffic deck coating materials and new PUMA traffic deck coating system at designated expansion joint nosings. Includes all required surface preparation and terminations. Replacement of expansion joints at designated areas, including new reinforcing concrete joint nosings. Includes required concrete removal and new reinforced concrete and steel angle nosings, new PUMA traffic deck coating system on expansion joint nosing surfaces, adjacent "thick" system removal and replacement to allow for waterproofing tie-ins, and asphalt surface sealer to asphalt repair areas. Removal of existing expansion joint gland seal materials at central inter-level ramp (from Level 1 to Level 2) and install new pre-compressed hybrid foam compression seal joint. Includes all required surface preparation. Localized asphalt crack repairs at Level 5. Includes routing and sealing of existing cracks. New asphalt surface sealer throughout Level 5. Includes required surface preparation prior to surface sealer application. Replacement of damaged metal flashing at designated areas on Level 2 and Level 5. Includes all connections and new sealant materials. Replacement of localized sloped concrete infill at Level 2 landing area. Includes all required surface preparation and waterproofing requirements. Replacement of reinforced concrete speed bumps at entrance/exit lane areas on Level 1. Includes all required surface preparation. Localized concrete delamination repairs, including precast soffit, beam soffit, and slab-on-grade locations. Replacement of damaged floor drains and corroded drainage piping at areas designated on Drawings. Includes tie-in to existing drainage system and all waterproofing removal and replacement requirements. Flushing of existing drainage system throughout parking structure. Includes hydro-vac truck clearing of slab-on-grade drainage lines throughout Level 1. Video inspection of the existing below-grade drainage lines throughout Level 1. Includes providing video file to AHS upon completion of review. Localized soffit scraping and painting at designated suspended slab soffit areas throughout parking structure (at areas of staining). Soffit cleaning and painting at designated suspended slab soffit areas where damaged by smoke. Cleaning, scraping, and painting at designated foundation wall area, upon completion of compression seal joint installation above. Replacement of damaged section of guardrail on Level 5, where designated on Drawings. Includes paint to match existing. New expansion joint cover plates at Level 5 curb areas, where designated on the Drawings. Localized conduit replacement at areas where existing lighting system conduit is corroded. Replacement of damaged electrical plug-in pedestal at Level 1, where designated. Includes associated concrete repairs below pedestal. Parking line and directional arrow painting at areas affected by Work, including throughout Level 5 after application of asphalt surface sealer. Layouts to match existing. Allowances for multiple work phases, construction hoarding, and dust control measures to maintain partial pedestrian and vehicle access through parking structure during work. Phasing of Work will be required. Work of this Contract includes erection of temporary hoarding in accordance with AHS requirements, including barricades, signage, flaggers, and any other safety considerations required to protect the public, building users, and existing building structures, components, and systems from injury or damage due to work of this Contract. The Project schedule calls for the Work to commence at the Project Site immediately after the effective date of the Contract (tentatively immediately upon award), and with Substantial Performance of the Work achieved by October 15, 2023. Total Performance of the Work is to be achieved within 30 calendar days of achieving Substantial Performance. Localized closure of areas affected by the Work is to occur throughout the duration of the Project. Bonding Required
