Site work and paving for a bridge / tunnel in Mississauga, Ontario. Completed plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.
The City has assessed the infrastructure needs in this area and the work plan will include: - Construction of a new 66 m clear span Active Transportation bridge over the Credit River. - Paved multi-use trail from Memorial Park including new luminaires for trail lighting. - Paved multi-use trail from the new bridge to the intersection of Mississauga Rd and Front Street including new luminaires for trail lighting and reconstruction of existing curbs and catch basins along Front St. - Intersection work at Mississauga Road and Front Street including signals for pedestrian crossing. - New storm sewers and new sewer outlet into the Credit River. - New riverbank improvements and tree plantings in Memorial Park. The bridge site is adjacent to a Metrolinx rail corridor. There are height restrictions on cranes to protect the rail corridor. It is anticipated that girders for the bridge will be launched due to the crane restrictions. The construction will commence in August 2026, with all the major works completed by February 27, 2026.
