Question Deadline: 4/2/2023 10:00 PM (CT) The current hydronic heating system boiler room piping is not installed correctly and was done as a loop which "short-circuits" the system heating by providing the supply and return fluid in the same line. The fluid in the system has only water and not glycol allowing the in-floor piping to freeze at the perimeter piping further reducing the heating needs within the building. The entire system needs flushed / cleaned to eliminate build-up in the system further reducing the efficiency. Also the existing 2 boilers do not provide adequate heat to the system and the exhaust vent piping is not installed to eliminate the exhaust from being sucked back in to the combustion air piping. The existing system's piping will be flushed / cleaned, the boiler room piping will be reinstalled to meet the manufacturers requirements. All pumps will be replaced to allow glycol to be used in the system. Glycol will be installed along with a system feeder to provide protection from the future freezing. The boilers / controls will be replaced with higher capacity, more energy efficient units. The exterior exhaust vent piping will be extended to meet the exhaust and mechanical code requirements Substantial completion is August 4, 2023. Contract end date is August 18, 2023 this shall include all punch list items are completed, any inspections are completed and final has indicated final acceptance.
