Site work and new construction of a fire / police facility in Burnaby, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the construction of a 129,000-square-foot, three-story above grade fire / police facility; and for site work for a fire / police facility.
Burnaby RCMP Integrated Project Delivery ("IPD") project. The new three-storey, 129,000 sq ft detachment will be built on City-owned land at the corner of Ledger Avenue and Norland Avenue, replacing the existing facility on Deer Lake Avenue which was built in 1967. Originally designed as a courthouse, the building was later transitioned to serve as the Burnaby RCMP detachment. TIMELINE: A recent Ground Breaking Ceremony has taken place. As of July 2024, construction is underway with the redirection of a storm drain to enable bulk excavation and shoring works. Construction is expected to be completed early 2028; exact timelines have yet to be finalized. *Project has been estimated at 229 million.
