Planting and maintaining of City flower beds located at City parking garages and lots. Services include: Pre-Season- Remove old compost, mulch and debris as needed and rototill. Annually-Edge flowerbeds; add organic granular pro-grow fertilizer. Weekly- Replace any dead flowers, check flowers for insect and disease, apply protective measures as needed; weed all beds, add compost and mulch to beds as needed, sweep and clean up trash from beds. Biweekly - Pinch back plants and apply liquid fertilizer. Watering - All beds are to be watered weekly, applied at no less than 1 inch over the entire bed. Post Season - Rake, remove debris, Rototill, and plant annual rye seeds in all flower beds The City of Burlington Department of Public Works ("City") is seeking bids for landscaping services to be completed prior to June 1, 2023. Questions: Questions, site visits and requests for clarification relating to this Request for Proposal may be made to Matt Fitzpatrick at mfitzpatrick@burlingtonvt.gov. Only e-mail communications will be accepted. All questions and requests for clarification must be received by April 14th, 2023 Contractor's acceptance of the final payment shall be a release in full of all claims against the City or its agents arising out of or by reason of the Work. Any payment, however, final or otherwise, shall not release the Contractor or its sureties from any obligations under the Contract Documents or any performance or payment bond. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to negotiate with one or more parties, or to award the contract to the proposal the City deems will meet its best interests, even if that proposal is not the lowest bid. The City reserves the right to re-advertise for additional proposals and to extend the deadline for submission of the proposals. This Request for Proposals in no way obligates the City to award a contract.
