Renovation of a municipal facility in Burlington, Vermont. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
Per the owner, as of February 8, 2024, this solicitation was for conceptual design only. The owner states the conceptual design phase is wrapping up in February 2024. Closed solicitation has been included below for reference. ........ Moran Frame, 1 Lake Street, Burlington, VT 05401 CEDO and BPRW are requesting proposals from qualified interdisciplinary teams of landscape architects, environmental planners, environmental engineers, and other relevant disciplines to complete Conceptual Design and Scoping for the 2nd phase of work at the Moran Frame. Questions concerning this RFP must be made via email per the schedule outlined below. The site is open and available to the public (there is no scheduled site visit associated with the RFP). Responses to all submitted questions will be posted online. Issue date: March 24, 2023 Questions due: April 7, 2023 Answers posted: April 14, 2023 Proposals due: April 21, 2023 Notice to Proceed: May 16 (anticipated) CEDO and BPRW are seeking design services from a qualified consultant, or team of consultants, to develop a design vision, including identifying opportunities for programming, communicated through visualizations, narratives, and a conceptual cost estimate for the second phase of improvements at the Moran Frame. The Phase II Conceptual Design and Scoping work should address, at a minimum, the following elements: o Consider and respond to existing and future amenities along the City's waterfront park system as well as the existing municipal infrastructure; o Improve accessibility throughout the park space as well as the physical and visual connectivity with adjacent destinations and amenities, including a strong east-west pedestrian connection between the bike path and the water's edge; o Introduce a new park pavilion that houses public restrooms, storage, a park ranger office, and utility spaces; o Identify opportunities to enhance access to, and enjoyment of, the Moran Frame through all four seasons; Identify amenities that will support multigenerational visitors of all abilities to the Moran Frame; o Identify infrastructural improvements that are needed to support flexible programming, including short- and long-term artistic performances, installations, events and activations of the Frame; o Visually screen "back-of-house" operations at the adjacent DPW and BED buildings from the Frame site while maintaining the required access for a crane to perform periodic overhead service of BED equipment; o Opportunities to engage with the lake at the property's western boundary, including opportunities to bring visitors closer to the water's edge (excluding swimming activities); o Opportunities to bring people up into the Frame; o Strategies for mitigating strong winds across the site; o Conceptual Cost Estimate; o Narrative and visualizations necessary to communicate the vision to a range of stakeholders, including community members and private donors. As of March 30, 2023, the due date and time has been confirmed with the owenr.
