The Town of Hancock is requesting proposals for hot asphalt shim to be applied in various locations on town roads. All work will conform to the following specifications. This work is currently scheduled for July- August, 2023 1 General Description: This work shall consist of the delivery and placement of NH DOT shim mix, 3/4 '' winter binder and 1/2 '' hot asphalt pavement. Prior to the application of hot mix asphalt a tack coat of emulsion will be applied to the areas to be shimmed. Rolling with a minimum 3-5 ton roller will commence as soon as the hot asphalt has reached its optimum rolling temperature. 2. Materials: Hot asphalt will conform to NH DOT surface treatment asphalt mix 3. Equipment will consist of a mechanical paver with a track drive system. A 3-5 ton roller, and a tack truck or wagon suitable to perform as needed. 4. The locations and estimated tonnage is as follows: . Cross Road- Old Dublin Road Side - DPW will peel and prep for: 2''- 160 Ton- 3/4 '' Winter Binder- Contractor to provide roller after fine grading completion. . Hunts Pond Road- 2465'X20'- 1/2''HMA - 1.25''- 440 Tons . North Road- Shim- 3900'X20'- 3/8''HMA- .75''- 366 Tons Pave- 7650'X20'- 1/2 '' HMA- 1.25''- 1,200 Tons . Kimball Road- Shim- 4000'X20'- 3/8''HMA- 1''- 500 Ton . North Elmwood Road- Shim- 4435'X20- 3/8''HMA - .75''- 420 Tons Pave- 4435'X20'- 1/2 '' HMA- 1.25''- 695 Tons Total Estimated Quantities- 3/8'' HMA- 1286 Tons 1/2 '' HMA- 2907 Tons 3/4 '' HMA- 160 TON 5 . All tonnages and locations are estimates and may be more or less when the actual work is completed. Payment will be made on actual tonnage in place. Budgets and proposal cost will dictate how much of the list is accomplished. 6. Proposals must remain in effect for 30 days from the opening. Price increases shall be communicated with DPW Director within 48 Hours. 7. The Town of Hancock will discuss weather related delays or postponements with the contractor. If the contractor chooses to move forward with impending weather issues, they will do so at their own risk.
