This contract contains two Columbia Pike Multimodal Street Improvements Projects, Segment C and Segment D. Segment C stretches approximately 1,600 LF between South Quinn Street and South Courthouse Road. Segment D stretches approximately 2,350 LF between South Courthouse Road and South Garfield Street. These two projects will be awarded for construction concurrently; however, the actual commencement of construction for each segment will be separated. Segment D shall commence construction before Segment C. These projects reconfigure the street section, which includes a five-lane street cross-section as a multimodal complete street featuring transit, environmental, and pedestrian facilities. The improvements include installing wider sidewalks, enhanced pedestrian crossings, street lights, traffic signals, on-street parking, storm sewer, sanitary sewer and water infrastructure improvements, conversion of overhead utility to undergrounding (only on Segment C), street trees, landscaping, and asphalt pavement. There is a preliminary plan to realign the intersection at S Rolfe St and Columbia Pike, which is within the limits of Segment C. This work has been added as an optional item in the pricing sheet. The preliminary (30%) engineering design plans for the optional item is attached with this ITB as Attachment N. Bid Surety in the amount of not less than 5% of the bid must be submitted with the bid. Performance and Payment Bonds in the amount of 100% of the award will be required of the successful bidder. Arlington County reserves the right to reject any and all bids, cancel this solicitation, and to waive any informalities or irregularities in procedure. A bidder's submission of a bid indicates acceptance of these terms.
