As of March 7, 2024, per owner design team and general contractor have been identified. Construction began on March 4, 2024. The Village of Northbrook requests proposals for professional construction observation services for the Dundee Road Water Main replacement project. The Village's FY 2023-24 Budget (May 1, 2023 to April 30, 2024) has allocated funding for the construction of the Dundee Road Water main Replacement Project. A brief summary of the construction work to be implemented can be found below: The 16-inch cast iron Dundee Road water main was installed in 1963. The water main is located under the railroad and West Fork of the North Branch of the Chicago River. A failure of this main could impair the Village's ability to supply water to the western portions of the community and impact traffic on a major arterial roadway and potentially commuter rail service on the Milwaukee District North Line. This main will be replaced with a 24-inch diameter pipe which will be substantially installed by directionally drilling on the south side of Dundee Road. There will also be two locations where the water main is directionally drilled across Dundee Road. The Village has acquired necessary easements from residential properties on the corridor to complete the project. Project Estimated Construction Cost: $2,320,000.00
