Summit County Facilities Maintenance Department is soliciting proposals from qualified fire panel upgrades contractors/installers. The best proposal will be selected for award based upon consideration of qualifications, relevant experience, schedule and cost. Contract Award No later than 05/15/2023 This project will require the awarded contractor to produce performance and bid bonds if proposals exceed $50,000 for this project. Any questions regarding this Request for Proposal should be directed to Wayne Byrne, 970-668-4230 or wayne.byrne@summitcountyco.go All interested firms are invited to submit a proposal in accordance with the terms and conditions stated in this Request for Proposal The Summit County Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive irregularities or informalities, and to conduct such investigations or negotiations as it deems necessary to select the most responsible and responsive proposal. Summit County Government is soliciting proposals to upgrade their existing Edwards Systems Technology (EST3) fire alarm panel and associated equipment. Owners have determined that the current (EST3) fire panel has reached its practical life expectancy and has become obsolete and requires upgrade This project is located at the following physical address: Justice Center, 501 North Park Ave., Breckenridge, CO 80443 Scope of Work a. General provisions of the Contract, including General and Supplementary Conditions and Division 1 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. b. The scope of work for this project consists of selected Contractor providing a complete code compliant fire alarm and communication system. Work consists of the removal of existing Edward Technology Systems (EST3) fire alarm control panel (FACP) and (2) associated annunciator panels and migrate existing system and system components to the Edward Technology Systems (EST4) fire alarm control system. c. Upgraded systems shall emulate existing sequence, functions, reporting and operations of current EST3 fire system controls. Contract will use current programming software, original billable materials and asbuilt plans for bidding this project. d. Existing cabinets shall be reused if compatible with new EST4 hardware. e. All existing EST smoke detectors, heat detectors, duct detectors, pull stations, fan controls, horns and strobes, tamper device, flow switches, pull stations, associated HVAC interlocks, wiring and associated equipment shall remain to be integrated into upgraded EST4 fire control system. f. This scope of work includes the acceptance testing to be witnessed by the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ) and the Owner's Representative and, or Fire Protection Engineer. g. This scope includes that the fire systems to remain operational at the end of each work day to maintain required building fire protection coverage. h. This scope of work includes the demolition of the existing EST3 system and disposal of the unused components off-site. i. The scope of work includes training the [end-user/client/maintenance personnel] on the operation and programming of the system, required maintenance tasks and frequencies, and the locations of all equipment necessary to maintain and operate the fire alarm system
