Demolition and new construction of an educational facility in Fife, Washington. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; and for the construction of a 205,000-square-foot educational facility.

As of August 14, 2024, this project is on hold. A timeline for construction has not been established. Previous solicitation listed below: Fife Public Schools anticipates initiating predesign, including validation/development of existing preliminary educational specifications, and schematic design phase work with one architectural firm in May/June 2023 in advance of a November 2023 General Election Capital Bond Measure that will fund the remaining design phases and development of the new high school. The project consists of a new high school of approximately 205,000 GSF integrated with a 30,000 GSF STEAM Center that opened in January 2023. The new 9-12 grade high school will be constructed directly adjacent to the existing Fife High School. The project will include the development of new football and track and field facilities including stadium seating, demolition of the existing high school facilities, and significant on-site landscape, pedestrian, surface transportation, and storm water management infrastructure improvements. The existing 10-12 grade high school will remain fully occupied and operational during the project's construction phases. The new high school is intended to serve approximately 1,300 students in grades 9-12. The project is expected to participate in the OSPI School Construction Assistance Program. The district also intends to submit an application to CPARB's Project Review Committee forsummer 2023 review requesting the use of the General Contractor/Construction Manager method of alternative project delivery. Outstanding and comprehensive design, bid/award, construction administration, and project closeout services including record documentation are required by selected the architectural firm and will include structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering services, landscape architectural services, interior design services consistent with Fife guidelines, specialty sports field services, cost planning services, environmental graphics services, energy modeling/analysis services, cafeteria and kitchen services; as well as integrated information technology services, building controls and security systems services. In addition, it is a requirement of the project to ensure new facilities allow for equitable access to education; maximize efficiency in functional and effective utilization of each designed interior and exterior space, support the Fife Public Schools owner project requirements, and are physical design solutions that will enhance the Fife Public Schools strong educational vision and mission for our students, teachers, staff, families, and all of the communities we serve now and into the near future. Selection Committee questions may be asked of submitting firms via e-mail or phone during the selection committee review process. Interviews ofshort-listed firms are expected to take place on or around April 27, 2023. The District intends to enter into a negotiation for a consulting agreement with the firm offering the best qualifications and experience as judged by the Fife Public Schools Selection Committee. Fife Public Schools anticipates the award of the work in early May 2023.
