Renovation of an educational facility in Bakersfield, California. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 27,815-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility.
As of June 20, 2023 the project was awarded to JTS Construction, awarded amount is not available. In general, the scope of work includes the replacement of existing TPO over foam roof with high density rigid insulation and PVC system as per drawings and specifications. Bidder is responsible for removal and reinstallation of all existing equipment including HVAC units and or elements required to complete said project with exception of existing satellite dishes to be removed and reinstalled by others. The budget for this project is limited to $1,200,000. Amend the Scope of Work, in conjunction with approved drawings, specifications, and as stated below but not limited to the following: o Replace existing TPO over foam roof with high density rigid insulation and PVC system as per drawings and specifications. o Contractor is responsible for removal and reinstallation of all existing equipment including HVAC units and or elements required to complete said project with exception of existing satellite dishes to be removed and reinstalled by others. o Contractor is to alert Owner immediately prior to disturbance of any material that could contain asbestos if contractor feels that the material is not adequately tested and documented within the project documents. o Contractor is to provide two weeks' notice prior to disconnection of any utility including HVAC. o Contractor is to perform flow tests "witnessed by IOR" on all existing roof drains, inspect for leaks, report all findings to Owner. o Contractor is to contain all materials and machinery within the construction barricade. o Contractor understands that crane reach outside of the construction barricade is not permitted. o Contractor understands that all regulations as required by Cal/OSHA are to be followed for working the exterior of midrise buildings. o Contractor shall leash all materials, such as flashings and or copings prior to removal to avoid possible injury resulting from falling debris. o Contractor understands that the Runner Cafe is a live building and will limit work areas above entrances and exits during off hours to avoid any possible injury from falling debris. o Contractor is to protect and clean all state property effected by project daily. o Contractor's warranty on workmanship shall be three years. o Contractor understands that California State University Bakersfield is a Smoke Free Campus and will abide by campus policies in this regard. o Contractor is expected to follow all Campus policies regarding protection from COVID 19 and or its variants regardless of any discrepancies with current guidelines. Architect's construction estimate is $1.2 million Liquidated damages are $750.00 for each calendar day completion is beyond the time prescribed licensed in the State of California with a B license, and registered with the DIR to bid public works projects. Project durations 60 calendar days from ntp Work Included in the Contract: This project proposesto reroof thevarious levels of the Runner Cafe. The Work included shall consist of all construction and services involving work related to: 1. Removal of existing low-slope roofing and insulation at specified locations down to lightweight concrete surface (over metal roof decks). Contractor shall comply with current building codes during the removal and installation of new roofing systems. The new roofing system shall comply with standards noted in CBC section 1507.13 and all associated sections. This is an existing building with an existing roof system. All work removing or being replaced shall comply with the requirements of the current codes. 2. Removal and reinstallation of all existing sheet metal flashing elements as indicated on drawings. 3. Disconnection, removal and reinstallation of all specified mechanical equipment at specified roof areas following installation of new roofing system per drawings and specifications. Install new flashings and sheet metal pans as indicated on drawings or as required to provide a longterm, watertight condition per manufacturer requirements. 4. Remove all existing sheet metal coping and install new coping at locations indicated on drawings. Paint to match building finish. 5. Installation of fully-adhered thermoplastic membrane roofing system over 0.5" layer of gypsum board roof insulation installed in low-rise adhesive. Install new flashings and mechanical fasteners as indicated on drawings related components per project requirements and manufacturer requirements. Provide 20-year manufacturer system warranty and 3-year workmanship guarantee. 6. Remove and replace all existing roof access hatches with new roof hatches. Secure to existing curbs. Install retractable roof access pole at each roof hatch and safety railings as indicated on drawings. 7. Install new clad-metal and PMMA liquid flashings at locations indicated on drawings or as required by roofing materials manufacturer for the fully-warranted roof system. 8. Clear all roof drains and related plumbing as required to ensure fully functioning roof drainage system. Replace existing drain clamping rings and strainers. Replace bolts and washers with new stainless-steel elements. 9. Installation of new flashings as specified or required to provide a complete roofing system per project design documents and manufacturer requirements.
