The Project is located at 6901 McCutchen Road in Bakersfield, California 93313. The Maintenance Building for Wastewater Plant 3 is over 50 years old. The building serves as office space, a lunchroom, locker room for staff and supervisors. The existing plumbing and vent lines are deteriorated. There is a sewage smell throughout the building. The roof was recently re-roofed. However, the years of water penetrating the old roof has damaged walls, floor coverings and ceilings. In addition, the restrooms and locker room need to be remodeled to bring those areas up to industry standards and to accommodate the influx of Wastewater staff. When this project is completed the building will have an ADA compliant restroom, an updated break area and locker room, new floor covering, upgraded plumbing, newly painted interior walls, etc. The Maintenance Building Repair & Remodel will take place in two phases. Phase 1 will include the design phase. Phase 2 will include the demolition and construction phase. The Design/Build Consultant selected will be responsible for both Phase 1 and Phase 2. The City has estimated the project cost at $390,000 to $425,000 including design and construction.
