Project Description: Construction of a new 80'-0" X 200'-0" pre-engineered metal pole-barn style Vehicle Maintenance Building at the County Highway Department facilities site south of Lacon, Illinois on State Route 26. All Bidders are advised that all work of this Contract shall be subject to the provisions of the "Davis-Bacon Act." Prevailing wage rates have been included in the bid documents as determined by the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development, Office of Labor relations. All Bidders shall submit and enclose with their bid a notarized certification that the Contractor is not barred from bidding on the Contract as a result of a violation of either Section 33 E-3 or 33 E-4 of Article 33E, Public Act 85-1295 (Senate Bill 2002) effective January 1, 1989. Certification is located in the Proposal Form, Section 00300, of the Project Manual. Minority owned contractors are encouraged to participate. Bids shall be accompanied by a bid bond, bank draft, certified check or cashier's check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Base Bid, made payable to Marshall County, 122 North Prairie Street, Lacon, Illinois. Failure of Bidders to submit bid bond, certified check or cashier's check in amount to cover proposals bid upon is cause for rejection of bid. Surety Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond will not be required for this project. Marshall County Illinois reserves the right to reject any or all bids and reserves the right to waive any irregularity in bidding, which in their considered opinion is warranted. No bid shall be withdrawn for Sixty (60) days after opening of bids without written consent of the Owner.
