The City of Kirkwood is requesting sealed qualifications for Professional Design Services for Sugar Creek Substation for the Citys Electric Department, in accordance with the specifications contained herein. Question Cuttoff Date & Time 4/5/2023 06:00:00 PM (ET) The City of Kirkwood is interesting in contracting and professional design services for a substation design of the Sugar Creek Electric Substation located at 389 S. Ballas. Kirkwood Electric is a municipal utility with 10,000-metered customers and is interested in replacing its current substation located at 389 S. Ballas. Kirkwood Electric requires Professional Design Services to meet the project goals. Kirkwood Electric is requesting qualifications for Professional Design Services that may include but are not limited to the following services. The descriptions of the requested services are not all inclusive of the tasks required: 1. Subsurface investigation for soil loading and field work. 2. Soil testing for resistivity so that the new ground can be designed as 12kV fault currents will be going up. 3. Design of (two) new foundations for the transformers, switchgear, circuit switchers, disconnect switches, bus supports and cable termination structures. 4. Transmission lines will enter the Substation from overhead (see the two attachments), that design provided by LUZCO Technologies will need to be incorporated into the Civil Design. 5. Design of the (two) transformers oil containment structures. 6. Substation Metering will enter the Substation from the Southwest and will be incorporated into the design from underground. 7. Design of the Substation Ground Grid showing the connection to the Substation Fencing Design as provided by LUZCO Technologies. 8. Design of the Final landscaping. An appointed Selection Committee will review and evaluate the qualifications of each firm. Upon review of the submitted qualifications, firms may be selected for interviews or questions for clarification by the Selection Committee; however, the City may choose to proceed without interviewing any firms. The firm(s) deemed the most qualified will be provided a Request for Proposal, which will require an in-depth response. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
