Demolition, site work and new construction of an educational facility in Berkeley, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for the construction of a 1,596-square-foot educational facility; and for site work for a educational facility.

IGI UC Berkeley project is an interior tenant improvement on the second floor level. The scope of work is included but not limited to: o Demolition to a portion of existing suspended ceiling & altering of (e) light fixtures o Removal of existing floor finishes in scope of work o Demolition of existing millwork o New floor finishes o New demountable glazed partitions added to form the offices, conference room, and work area spaces o (e) Wood ceiling to remain. Contractor to minimize damage to existing ceiling o (e) Perforated metal panels to remain o New millwork and water line for coffee area o New (led-type) light fixtures to meet Title 24 o Project Area: 1596 sf. To allow the University to evaluate bidders, each bidder must submit with its bid, a Contractor's Special Statement of Experience. This Contractor's Special Statement of Experience must be provided on the Contractor's letterhead. If your firm provides inaccurate or incomplete information your firm will be found non-responsive. If your firm receives negative project references they may be found non-responsive. To be eligible for consideration of award, the Contractor's Special Statement of Experience must include. 1. Documentation that the bidder has successfully completed the following: a. A minimum of three (3) and a maximum of five (5) comparable complex projects within occupied laboratory buildings with a construction value of $920,000 or greater, completed in the past five (5) years that demonstrate the bidder's ability to successfully complete the project with respect to project size, cost, use, complexity, etc. DO NOT include projects currently under construction. a. All submitted projects must be within the immediate nine Bay Area counties. 2. Documentation that the bidder's Project Manager and Superintendent have successfully completed a minimum of two (2) comparable project in the past five (5) years that meet the criteria listed in 1a above. Provide resume with comparable projects listed. 3. Include the following for each project: (a) project name, (b) project address, (c) owner's name, (d) contract value at award, (e) total Change Order value, (f) completion date, (g) Owner's Representative email address and current phone number and (h) brief scope. 4. All complex projects within occupied laboratory buildings on all UC Campuses and National Labs (LBNL, LLNL) within the last 5 years. Prospective bidders arriving late after the published start time, will not be allowed to participate in the Virtual Pre-Bid Job Walk. Only bidders who participate in the Pre-Bid Meeting will be allowed to bid on the Project as prime contractors. LICENSE REQUIREMENTS: The successful Bidder will be required to have the following California current and active contractor's license at the time of submission of the Bid: "B" - General Building Contractor Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy. Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy. The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work. The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code. No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1. This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations. The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $13 per hour as of 10/1/15, $14 per hour as of 10/1/16, and $15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements. Estimated construction cost: $920,000.
